Keep Coming Back

Sometimes I feel like I’m always in comeback mode. This year particularly has thrown quite a few challenges my way which has made it hard to be consistent both with workouts and nutrition.

Each time I feel like I’m in a good routine and have adapted or worked around the challenge - something else has come along to make me rethink what is realistically achievable.

It’s hard! To keep going honestly, and it has shown me that there are many ways to adapt to the bumps in the road that life throws our way.

When everything hurt, I stretched

When it was hard to breathe, I walked

When it hurt to walk, I cycled

When I was too tired I slept

When I was hungry I nourished myself with good food

But. There were definitely moments, when it was just too hard and I just didn’t move my body and ate food I knew wouldn’t serve me, but that I really fancied. And then, after a while, I was rested and restored and ready to try again.

I came back. And whilst it may not be a popular point of view, I think that’s okay. Consistency is definitely the key to achieving your goals when it comes to fitness and health. Alongside that is learning to listen to the real you when you just need to take a break to rest and restore.

And as long as you keep coming back to what you know serves you best, then that’s okay.
